HMS ''E27'' was a British E class submarine built by Yarrow Shipbuilders, Scotstoun. She was laid down on 9 June 1917 and was commissioned in August 1917. HMS ''E27'' was sold to John Cashmore Ltd in Newport for scrapping on 6 September 1922. ==Design== Like all post-''E8'' British E-class submarines, ''E27'' had a displacement of at the surface and while submerged. It had a total length of and a beam length of . It was fitted with a quick-firing gun gun (12 pounder), five torpedo tubes, and one spare torpedo tube. Its torpedo tubes were fitted at the front and the aft; unlike pre-''E9'' submarines, the two midship section torpedo tubes were not included.〔 E-Class submarines contained wireless systems with power ratings; in some submarines, these were later upgraded to systems by removing a midship torpedo tube.
